The renovations finished in August 2005, and what an end result! A fresh contemporary Chinese design extends throughout public areas, while the comfy rooms are complimented with Asian touches. Service is top notch, in fact, possibly the best in the city.

It's no imperial palace in here, but the Chinese influence is everywhere, from a delightful Han dynasty inspired carpet design, to the lantern-style lighting, to the giant astrological discs hanging in the atrium. And this hotel does not do tacky. What needs to be modern and functional (spacious bathrooms, soft bedding, workstations with ADSL, attentive service staff) is. North facing rooms on the higher floors have excellent views of Yangmingshan National Park. This view is shared by the well-equipped gym and rooftop swimming pool. The hotel has some eight food and beverage options, including the stunning Momoyama, one of the city's best Japanese.
