Address: Lennujaama tee 2 , Tallinn 11101, Estonia Show on map
A joyful fountain adorns the front of this concrete and dark-glass megastructure within walking distance of the airport. Popular with business persons, this crisp, modern and new hotel nonetheless has lots to appeal to the casual tourist. You sense this hotel's modernist intentions stepping into its airy, bright and slightly Logan's Run-like lobby, adorned with glass, chrome and cubist furniture; it's a 1970s vision of the future, and it works. However, rooms are bathed in warm Scandinavian golds and browns, with wood panelling, off-lighting and partially mirrored walls; comfortable and elegant. For views, you can choose between the highway and Lake Ülemiste or a small garden. If you want to see planes landing, you'll need a suite on the top two floors. The only differences between regular doubles and more expensive 'business class' ones are minibars and coffee machines. All rooms have (expensive) high-speed Internet connection, there's wi-fi in the lobby, and clients get free morning access to the sauna and gym. A winner if you don't need to be smack in the centre (just a 10-minute bus ride away).

If you don't find what you need in the endless, mammoth Ülemiste shopping mall just 150m away, you can peruse the nearby Peugeot and Opel showrooms.
The fountain out front is Tallinn's largest, and the reflection from its lights will dance on your window shades until the wee hours.
