Designed in 1952 by famed local architect William Cody as a getaway for a Hollywood mogul and several dozen of his friends, the recently reopened Horizon is once again a showplace. The Horizon's 22 rooms are sprawled across the property's 2.5 acres in little clusters - from above they look like birds on the wing.There are virtually no right angles in the walls, which creates all kinds of play as the light circulates across the valley. Inside, look for Italian linens and bathrobes, marble bathrooms (with a glass wall to a private outdoor shower), kitchens and plasma TVs. Get into the spirit with a yoga class on the lawn, soak in the chemical-free pool or Jacuzzi, or sip a cocktail at the poolside bar. Complimentary continental breakfast is delivered to your room - enjoy it on your private patio. DSL and wi-fi are available.
