Lonely Planet review

A sunny spot in both the literal and figurative senses, the Sakura Hotel is a reliable cheapie with a convivial atmosphere. Staff is bilingual and helpful, and the rooms, though pretty basic, are comfortable and clean.

The Sakura Hotel serves up superb accommodation for those on a budget, and garnishes the deal with plenty of simple perks on the side. Not only do you have 24-hour hotel access to come and go as you like, but you're also free to do your laundry at 03:00 if that's what suits you. The cafe and Internet terminals are similarly available at all hours, so you have an outlet for bouts of jet lag or insomnia: have a beer and surf the Net. Rooms here range from small dorm rooms to singles and doubles, all of which are clean and tidy, if on the small side. Shared bathrooms are plentiful and well maintained, and common areas feel homey and welcoming. A terrific location for bookworms and students.
