Along with its neighbour, Hotel Koura, just across the laneway, Haddad Pension represents one of the better options for budget travellers in Tripoli. A very homely and modest pension, there's always a warm welcome and plenty of soup bubbling away in the kitchen.

Using the advertising slogan: 'Miss your Grandma? Stay with us!', the spotlessly clean rooms, solicitous owners and plethora of doilies show that they're not kidding. This long-standing pension (check the guest-book for some great entries!), like many in Tripoli, has really felt the downturn in tourism in recent times and the welcome is even more friendly than ever. Just like going back and staying at your grandparent's place, the pension will do your laundry, offer free tea and you're more than welcome to ask what's for dinner - it's available here as well. But the rooms are most certainly unlike the way you left your bedroom when you moved out - unless you were heavily into pink, crocheted doilies, porcelain vases, fluffy toys, china plates, and kitsch ornaments!
