Hovering between budget and mid-range, this place has an upbeat young feel, despite being located in a fairly staid residential area. There's plenty of bright paintwork, colourful prints and smiley service to lift the spirits and soothe the soul.

The welcoming large lobby here hints at what's to come. Large and light with gentle jazz (or similar) in the background, the decor is warm blue and sunny yellow with real or dried plants instead of the ubiquitous plastic that seem so popular in these parts. There are newspapers and lots of tourist bumf to peruse and the reception folk speak several languages, including French and German. The rooms vary slightly, but warm pink predominates, offset by stripey curtains and colour-coordinated stencilling. The bathrooms are tiled in soft grey and blue. The previous owner was a big Impressionism fan so there are masses of prints scattered around the walls. Although the hotel is now company owned it has retained a family-run feel. Breakfast is served in another colourful room with more choice than the standard continental.
