Although facing increasing competition from much younger luxury upstarts around the City of Arts & Sciences, Hotel Astoria can still hold its own for top end comfort and attentive service
The Astoria remains a popular choice for visiting business travellers, dignitaries and theatre folk playing the nearby Teatro Principal. One of its strongest features is the lovely, ample ground-floor lounge, chandeliers dangling from its high ceiling. Up on the 7th and 8th floors, bedroom walls are a warm yellow with cherry carpets, curtains and bedspreads. Everywhere, wide corridors are hung with fascinating vintage photos of Valencia. The 3rd floor executive doubles offer a generous welcoming kit - hydromassage baths, bathrobes and slippers. On the top floor, the fitness centre has gym, sauna, massage and a hairdresser. The Astoria also runs the Vinatea, a quality restaurant.
