If you're proud of your independent travel streak, and looking to get away from the whole overland crowd, here's your chance to kick back with like-minded travellers in the know.

Although its a bit further out than other places, Victoria Falls Backpackers is superbly set up for the independent and budget traveller. The atmosphere is chilled-out, especially since overland trucks are not allowed on the premises. However, there's still a good time to be had here, especially when the place fills up with an interesting mix of characters. Accommodation is in several A-frame chalets as well as a breezy attic dorm. Guests have access to all the backpacker amenities you've come to expect including a TV lounge, swimming pool, laundry facilities, Internet cafe and communal kitchen.
