K+K Maria Theresia is a smart business hotel in the heart of suburbia, it not only caters well for those in the capital for work, but also for tourists looking for a place with a touch of comfort and a minimum of fuss.

It's curious that K+K ('Kaiser + König' or 'Emperor + King'), a phrase synonymous with the Habsburg empire, is pinned to such a business-like establishment; aside from the name, the only indication of royalty is the Schönbrunn yellow facade. Pickiness aside, the interior's design is clean and functional with touches of personality, like oriental carpets and a half-circle bar made for barflies. Not a lot of space is left over in rooms filled with modern furnishings, including twin beds and a desk for working; a smattering of individual affects, such as chocolates on pillows and flowers in vases, help liven up the scene. Bathrooms are, as expected, modern and spotlessly clean. The big, bright and airy top-floor suites are the hotel's highlight, and while the rooftop views from balconies are average for Viennese standards, it's nice to have space to sit outside in private.
