The Hilton Vienna is the city's, if not the country's, foremost business hotel. Originally built in 1975, all 15 floors of this giant enjoyed a million-euro makeover and reopened its doors to the public in 2004. It is Austria's largest hotel.

Inside you'll find a hotel interior with a distinct contemporary design and a reception of cream-coloured stone, black granite and natural maplewood. Rooms employ a combination of light-browns and creams which go easy on the eye, and even though the Hilton Vienna is such a monster of a hotel (or perhaps because it is), management still go the extra mile to add personal touches to each and every one: bathrooms sport yellow rubber duckies and Q-tips, while wooden clothes hangers and sewing kits hide behind wardrobe doors. Business facilities are top notch - each room has dial-up, cable and wireless Internet connection and plenty of desk space, and there's an extensive fitness centre in the basement. But best of all are the views from the top floors, which start at Stadtpark and end in the foothills of the Alps in Lower Austria.
