This luxurious option in the West End has 415 spacious rooms and an atrium lobby overlooking a flowery courtyard. The full health club features a lap pool and ball courts. It's justifiably popular with business travellers.

Once a Westin, the 1980s-era Fairmont has had several names over its comparatively short life. However it has really blossomed under Fairmont's tutelage. The large and roomy guest rooms are a study of muted earth tones which work well with the comfortable furniture (including very comfortable lounges for TV viewing, reading or contemplation of the requisite upscale-chain-hotel spiky orchids). Those facing the inner courtyard have small balconies, an amenity lacking from those with external views. The large and open lobby is a fine spot during inclement weather. At more salubrious times, tables set amongst the verdant courtyard are perfect for an evening cocktail. Staff are relaxed and helpful without being fussy, something the frequent traveller guests appreciate as they hurry past with their rolling carry-ons.
