Part of the Heritage chain of hotels, CityLife's slick downtown apartments are geared towards white-collar wanderers travelling on a corporate account. Shouldering shops and office blocks, CityLife is the perfect pad for a few days or a few weeks.
Five floors of apartments range in size from studio to three bedroom. Drop your laptop by the door and put your feet up on the lounge while deciding whether to cook in your newfangled kitchen or to hit the town just a few levels down. Just like home, each apartment has a TV, CD player, radio and wireless internet access. Unlike home (unless you're still living with Mum), apartments are serviced daily. You have to wash your own shirts, but an in-room washer and dryer takes care of that. Gym junkies can row and ride their way to glory in the fully-equipped gym, then return to their room to shed the sweat under giant showerheads fitted in each bathroom. The complex has only eight car parks (accessed from Gilmer Tce off Boulcott St), available on a first-come basis. There's also a small, basic breakfast room. Weekend rates are great bang for your buck.
