Address: Crisógono dos santos , Lagos 8600-678, Portugal
One of Lagos' finest hotels, the Tivoli is set in a large white stone complex, which has spacious, comfortably furnished rooms and loads of amenities. It's set in one of the Algarve's liveliest towns, with an old town centre packed with restaurants and bars.Since gaining popularity with busloads of tourist groups, the Tivoli has lost some of its polish. Still, the sprawling hotel has much to recommend it, if you don't mind the crowds. Brilliantly hued bougainvillea drapes about the old stone walls and a sizeable, sparkling pool is the centrepiece of the handsomely manicured back terrace. There's also a gym, hidden behind a lower-level water garden, and restaurants and lounges scattered about. The rooms have big windows and are classically decorated with framed prints. In addition to Lagos' other charms, the town is also gateway to a wide assortment of pretty beaches a short drive or ferry ride from the old centre.
