A solid choice right in the middle of popular Monkey Forest Road. There are plenty of comforts, and the location is convenient to shops, cafes and culture. Many repeat guests extol its virtues.

This very comfortable hotel is set in a checkerboard pattern of buildings and rice fields. Its 16 bright bungalow-style rooms are a refreshing change, especially if you've been staying in some anonymous concrete high rise hotel in Kuta. The veranda sitting areas are typical of Ubud and are an integral part of the rooms, allowing you to take your breakfast outside while you watch the compound wake up. In the afternoon, they serve as a fine spot for a plate of warm peanuts and a frosty beverage. All units are near the large pool, making it easy to work off some of the excellent local cuisine through judicious application of breaststroke or even a vigorous dog paddle if you're so inclined.
