Located in West Beijing and well positioned for trips to the Summer Palace, the Shangri-La has a top-notch selection of restaurants, bars and shops, as well as a fine spread of rooms.

The perfumed and air-freshened lobby and muted Chinese motifs may not have the majesty of sibling China World Hotel, but rates are far lower, while the overall business and high occupancy rates - coupled with the looming 2008 Olympics - have prompted the construction of a new tower brimful with spacious Horizon rooms, due for unwrapping in 2007.
