While not quite as keenly priced as it used to be and not as close to the Lan Kwai Fong nightlife district as you might imagine (it's about a 10-minute walk), this chic hotel has a modern Chinese flavour in a wonderfully central location near Graham St market.

Don't confuse this with the more upmarket and more central Hotel LKF. Do consider it if you're after a modern, central place that won't burn too big a whole in your pocket. It may be short on facilities and the rooms are pretty small, but there is much to recommend this place. For starters there's the neighbourhood, an atmospheric market enclave that has somehow clung to life beneath the Central skyscrapers. Inside the look is appealing: somewhere between traditional Chinese decor and Zen minimalism. The well equipped rooms include a desk, cable TV and broadband. While the food and drink options are afterthoughts, being so close to Central and Soho, it doesn't really matter.
