The Marquesa blends classic Key West architecture with modern touches, and big-hotel amenities with a small-inn vibe. Rooms range from luxurious nests to massive suites, all with gorgeous linens and flat-screen TVs.From the outside, the Marquesa looks much like the other island inns made out of old Victorian mansions. But like the chewy middle of a gourmet chocolate, what lies inside is a surprising treat. These rooms are spotless and impeccably decorated. They've shirked the traditional beach decor in favor of luxurious fabrics, modern amenities and persistent loveliness. The marble bathrooms have surely inspired more than a few guests to remodel upon returning home. If there's one place the effect isn't quite as impressive, it's the garden. The grounds are nice but not awe-inspiring. What they do offer is two pools plus privacy and quiet, tucked away as they are in a central courtyard.
