On an island replete with guesthouses, Ocean Key is a standout for its boutique style. Each of the 100 rooms has its own private patio and is awash with color, from the bedspreads to the hand-painted furniture.
Right on the water where Duval Street begins, this boutique-style hotel puts you right in the heart of the hubbub and just upstairs from Mallory Square and the nightly sunset celebration. It's also one of just a few full-service hotels on the island, offering a spa, restaurants, a pool and Sunset Pier, and an outdoor bar that juts out into the ocean. The rooms and suites are beachy-elegant, with big comfy furnishings done up in a tasteful rendition of island style. Local artwork and hand-painted furniture adds a splash of funky Key West style, giving the place a little more soul than most similarly glossy hotels. Jacuzzi tubs and private patios are standard issue, and the MiMo-style patio railings add a distinctive look to the exterior. All in all, the place stays true to its island locale while offering a luxurious option for the guesthouse-weary.
