The squat bungalows may not be much to look at, but Nashville's only hostel is within walking distance of both downtown and the West Side's bars and cafes. It's got a welcoming atmosphere and a motley crew of international guests ready to have fun.

If you don't fancy hitting the downtown honky-tonks by yourself, you'll be sure to meet an eager fellow traveler at Music City. The hostel itself is comprised of four squat brick bungalows which resemble nothing so much as low-price student housing, with bunk beds and clean shared bathrooms. The bistro tables in the courtyard often host international jam sessions - imagine an Australian student on guitar, a South Korean doctor on bass and a French sailor wailing on the saxophone. Don't plan on even trying to go to bed before 02:00. There's bike rental, a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a computer, and free wireless internet for those with laptops. Ron, the affable owner, is full of local info and rents out apartments to longer-term guests (perfect for those trying to 'make it' in the music biz).
