Tucked away behind the smart townhouse facade of the Wolf Dietrich you'll find some of the best value rooms on the Right Bank, ranging from traditionally styled doubles to a couple of fabulously extravagant suites, loosely based around Mozart's opera The Magic Flute.

The hotel is split into two separate buildings on either side of Wolf Dietrich Strasse. The doubles are pleasant and roomy, packed with floral prints, plump cushions and padded furniture. All are equipped with big TVs, DVD players and sitting areas; die-hard romantics can also request complimentary candles, aroma lamps and satin bed linen. The family suites feature a double bedroom for mum and dad and a separate room with single beds for the kids (note there's no lift in the Residenz building, which is a serious pain if you're on the top floor). For something extra-special try for the Papageno Suite, designed to resemble a fairytale woodland garden, or the Magic Flute Suite, complete with backlit bed, star-studded canopy and freestanding clawfoot bath. The hotel also has its own spa, sauna and compact swimming pool.
