The city's favourite hotel is housed in the former headquarters of the Holland-America passenger-ship line, and has excellent service and facilities. Often booked far in advance, it's noted for its views, café and boat shuttle that takes guests across the Nieuwe Maas to the centre. The Art Nouveau rooms - with many original and painstakingly restored décor fittings - are divine and come in various configurations, from standard to penthouse.
