This gorgeous hotel was designed to look like Taos Pueblo with a 13th-century ranchero twist and is filled with stunningly luxurious rooms and suites - all with wi-fi. The romantic, on-site Baleen Restaurant is celebrated for its seafood and discerning wine list, while the pampering at SpaTerre is world-renowned.

The whole place glows with a soft vibrancy and the hand-hewn features - right down to the doors, windows and light fixtures - hum with unparalleled artistry. Murals spill over candlelit walls and ceilings; rich textures and rustic accents gild the lobby and every guest room. Some rooms have balconies with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains (the best views are on the northeast side), while the Presidential suite has its own billiards room and wrap-around views. All rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed - the staff are responsive and eager to please. Patio dining at the on-site restaurant, Baleen, is awash with flowers, fountains, a kiva fireplace and views of the Loretto Chapel. Sip a margarita by the outdoor pool or let a Balinese spa treatment and Thai body ritual leave you shimmering.
