Lonely Planet review

The style mags have gushed about this chi-chi little place in part conceived by French design guru Philippe Starck and you can see why. Every aspect right down to the staff's Shanghai Tang uniforms, postmodern/baroque furnishings, and the latest in music and Internet technology is designed to fit with its sleek, whimsical aesthetic.

'Home' (its name in Mandarin) is above all else a friendly place and the service here and upstairs in Opia, the Asian fusion food bar/restaurant, is great. Downsides? Well the rooms are what Monsieur Starck would call serré(cramped) and the location is traffic choked.
