If you're a serious surfer dude (of the Internet, that is), this may be the place for you. Every single room is equipped with your own PC with flat-screen monitor and free, unlimited, round-the-clock Internet.

If you've brought your own laptop, you can also make use of free wi-fi, which is accessible from most areas of the hotel. This includes the lobby-bar and the large and quiet central courtyard in case you get your best ideas working al fresco. Need to burn a CD? Set up an email account? Print out a report? Just ask the tech-savvy staff. All these high-tech touches belie the fact that this is actually a hotel with a historical pedigree. In an earlier incarnation as the Hotel Windsor, stars including Marlon Brando and Claudia Cardinale used to shack up here. The most impressive reminder of those glamour days of yore is the stunning central staircase, which is a veritable symphony of multi-hued marble. Rooms, draped in the hotel's signature red and charcoal shades, are comparatively modern and perhaps a tad functional, although the beds get top marks and the bathrooms are big and luxurious.
