Address: 459 banff ave , Banff T0L0C0, Canada Show on map
The digs at this relatively new, and quite smart, hotel are slightly small, but very well appointed. The Royal Canadian is definitely the poshest place to stay on this stretch of Banff Ave.The bathrooms at the Royal Canadian are fabulous and come with fluffy robes. Rooms, although smaller than many places, are rather luxuriously decked out (although we didn't like the polyester bedspreads, they looked too much like those in chain motels) with polished dark wood headboards and matching dressers. Don't miss the grotto-style indoor pool and hot tub; it's mineral-water-fed, contains no chlorine and is definitely the hotel's best asset. Also of note is a lounge bar and restaurant, in case you're too tired from a day of hiking to move come dark. Definitely check the internet for the best deals - rack rates can be ridiculously high.
