Marble walls, stained-glass windows, frescos and sparkling chandeliers adorn the public spaces. Rooms are large and decked out with imported English and French antiques. The Art Deco Cruise Room Bar is one of Denver's swankiest cocktail lounges.

In a simple red sandstone building, this classy boutique hotel exudes historic elegance. Although the Oxford began its storied history as a Victorian masterpiece in 1891, it went through several transformations as the decades progressed. In the 1930s architect Charles Jaka remodelled the place as an Art Deco showcase. Then in the 1980s a three year renovation brought back some of the original architectural details that had been hidden behind false ceilings for more than seventy years. Today the Oxford pays homage to both eras, with rooms featuring either Art Deco or Victorian decor. Public areas are graced with sterling chandeliers and impressive marble floors.
