A few years down the track since it first turned heads with its technicoloured, contemporary style, the Terence Conran-designed Park continues to hold its own as Bangalore's No 1 boutique property. Beloved by the in-crowd, it's a place to see and be seen.

The fashionable rooms, which are generally on the small side, dip into a palette of natural materials, including raw silk, leather and oak, and striking colours - aquamarine and burnt orange symbolising the sea and setting sun; iris purple and lime green the coolness of the mountains. There are modern four poster beds and rain showers in the bathrooms; some rooms have balconies or more spacious terraces with deckchairs. Cordless phones are a nifty touch and, of course, there's wi-fi. A big heated lap pool runs down one side of the hotel providing a opportunity for exercise or a cooling dip before reclining in one of the adjoining gazebos and indulging in a bit of Bollywood star-spotting.
