Although more of a homestay than a European-style hostel, this superbly central offering is the nearest that Baku comes to having a backpacker meeting place. However, with only eight beds, it's often full and the overflow hostel up near Elmar Akademiyasi metro is vastly less convenient.The building is a typical Old City house with ultra-thick walls. Two effectively windowless bunk rooms lead off a shared kitchen-cum-sitting-room where you can help yourself to tea, cook simple meals or use the single computer for free internet. There's an acceptable shared shower and toilet but some guests complain that the beds are pretty uncomfortable. Unless you have your own sleeping bag, there's a small extra charge for bed linen. The hostel's owners are young Azeri entrepreneurs who speak great English. The day-to-day manager speaks much less accomplished English but is obliging and pleasant.
