Run by creative young owners with their fingers firmly on Regensburg's pulse, this ever-expanding indie hostel now has 20 beds. But watch this space - more dorms and communal spaces are on the way.

This is a great little backpacker base, with light streaming into its colourful, squeaky-clean dorms (and one double room, with shared bathroom facilities). Everything you could want is only footsteps away: the train station is less than 10 minutes' walk away, clubs and cafés are at the doorstep, and if you want to whip up a meal in the self-catering kitchen, or just hang in the common room with a beer, you don't even have to go that far - on the ground floor, the hostel has its own grocery store. Wi-fi's available, and staff will usually let you check your email onsite, otherwise there are internet cafés nearby.
