The hotel is just a few steps from lively Ploshtad Nezavisimost with its Opera House and clutch of restaurants, and from the start of the city's main pedestrian thoroughfare, ul Knyaz Boris I, lined with plentiful shops and cafes. The intriguing Ethnographic Museum is five minutes to the south.

How to get there

• From Varna Airport (VAR):
  Distance to Grand Hotel Musala Palace is 10 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
  
  Getting there. The number 409 bus runs every 15 minutes to central Varna, Golden Sands, and St Constantine. Tickets are available from the driver, and cost 0.60 BGN-1.80 BGN (0.30 EUR-0.90 EUR). Taxis are available in front of International Arrivals at Terminal 4. Taxis cost 6 BGN-16 BGN (3 EUR-8 EUR) to the city centre, and the journey time is about 15 minutes. The hotel organises an airport transfer on request for surcharge and recommends this option. Prices are all subject to change.
  
  Getting around. Central Varna is best explored on foot, and the city is served by a network of trolleybuses and buses. Regular buses run between Varna's bus station and the coastal resorts of the Black Sea. Trains and buses link Varna with destinations throughout Bulgaria. A car is recommended for seeing more of the Bulgarian countryside.
  
  Driving directions. From Varna Airport, follow signs for the centre.
  The Vladislav Varnenchik Boulevard leads directly from the airport to the Cathedral in the centre of town.
  At the traffic lights there, turn left and then turn right at the next lights.
  After the tunnel turn right, and continue as the street becomes Musala Street where the hotel is located.
