Oozing European flair and ambiance, with many key services and a great location, the Golden Tulip is recognised as one of the top tier hotels in the city. Besides its lovely open atrium and classically decorated rooms the hotel has a rooftop pool towering over downtown Yerevan.

The Golden Tulip dates back to the 1920s and for many years was the old Soviet-run Intourist Hotel that housed dignitaries from around world. The Italian group that renovated the hotel in 2000 maintained its period character with European art, a tea room and the odd grandfather clock. The main lobby is an airy indoor court where local businessmen and guests alike come to congregate over tea and cocktails. Free wi-fi is available here. The cream-coloured rooms are a little staid but do come with a modern bath and little extras like a terrycloth robe. The larger suites have flat panel TVs and nice city views. Besides the great location on a street with many shops and cafes the best thing about the place is its rooftop pool which overlooks the city. The hotel also has a bar, fitness centre and the excellent Rossini Italian restaurant.
