Built in 1888 and superbly restored in 1999, this colossal turreted landmark encompasses St Augustine's finest digs, and is worth a stop even if you're not staying here. Through the grand carriage entrance are a spectacular lobby, expansive swimming pool, fountains, gourmet restaurants, art galleries, clothing shops, jewelry stores…as well as magnificently appointed suites with ceramic-tiled bathrooms, luxuriant linens and every amenity you could want.
