Lonely Planet review

Classic Las Brisas commands some amazing views from its vantage point high above the bay. Built in the late '50s but recently renovated, the place has great bones, including a lot of lovely stonework and tile floors. There's definitely a bit of the contemporary to this old-time favorite, making it one of our top picks in the high-end range. Each of the 236 casitas has a private terrace or balcony and either a private swimming pool or one shared with at most two other casitas, adding intimacy and privacy to an already ideal location. The hotel's beach club is nestled far below in a rocky cove. The only drawback - for some at least - is the slightly remote location. You'll need to take a taxi to get to most of the restaurants in town. Then again, with several restaurants onsite, and a great sunset bar, you may never want to leave.
