Rich gay couples finally have their own luxury pad in BA. The Axel boasts two pools, one with see-through bottom (!), gorgeously designed rooms and a great sauna area. There are plenty of opportunities to meet other guys - think DJ sessions and pool parties - and it's hetero-friendly to boot.BA's first five-star gay hotel is certainly a showpiece. The lobby boasts a multi-story wall fountain and if you look up you'll see right through the clear bottom of the top-floor swimming pool, towards the sky. The stairways in the airy central well area are also glassy (watch that vertigo), making it easy to check out your fellow hotel-mates. The rooms are as contemporary as you can imagine, with acid-concrete floors, glass-wall bathrooms and fancy sliding doors to hide the mini-bar and closet areas. King-size beds, ipod docking stations and robes with slippers all come standard - no surprise on this front. There's no shortage of on-site entertainment, either. An upscale restaurant sits in the lobby area and there are two bar-lounges, one overlooking the back garden and second outdoor pool. And what would a gay hotel be without its own sauna, Jacuzzis and gym?
