It hardly gets more luxurious than this: prime location on Cannes' signature promenade, grand marble Art Deco hall, Givenchy spa, three restaurants including the gastronomic, double Michelin-starred La Palme d'Or and more than 400 rooms all lavishly furnished and presented.

Before you get too excited, you should know that sea views start at Prestige room level, the last room category before hitting the suites. All the same, Hôtel Martinez has spared no comfort throughout (and the city and hill views are really not bad): marble bathrooms, works of art in every room, signed Art Deco furniture, wi-fi, carpets thick enough to sink in, staff at the ready to cater to your every whim, heated octagonal outdoor pool and private beach. There is no mistaking that this is one of a very select club of exclusive palaces - you're very likely to bump into A-listers if you stay here.
