Address: Mile 224 george parks hwy, Carlo creek , Denali national park , Usa
This rustic, forested place offers accommodations in its main building and in several outlying cabins by the banks of babbling Carlo Creek. Amenities include kitchen facilities, clean showers and internet.Perched lovingly beside the gurgling Carlo Creek, this is the area's only true hostel. And, lucky for indie travelers and those who prefer close-knit hostel digs, it is one of the best in all of Alaska. Only open during the summer months, the hostel features a hotchpotch of tent-cabins, log cabins and platform tents. Of course, there's a fire-pit, and visitors can cook meals and swap tales in the 'octagon' - the hostel's common area. The hostel rents out backpacking gear, sells organic and bulk foods, and offers a shuttle service (5.00 roundtrip) to the park.

Head over to the Panorama Pizza Pub (tel:683 2623; Mile 224 George Parks Hwy) for a friendly cornhole tournament. This pub game hails from the Midwest of the United States. The goal is simple: get your sack of corn in the hole, which proves to be quite difficult, especially after a few Alaskan Ambers.
Denali National Park is home to three-dozen species of mammal, ranging from brown (grizzly) bear, lynx, marmot and Dall sheep to fox and snowshoe hare.
