This guesthouse has 15th-century roots, but its interior is '70s gone mad. Though rooms need a lick of paint, it's still a comfy spot to stay without blowing the budget. The big draw is its superb location opposite the Inn River and just across the street from the Altstadt.

Innbrücke is Tyrol's answer to Fawlty Towers - a blast from the past with a friendly welcome and entertainment value. The salmon-fronted, higgledy-piggledy townhouse dates to 1425. While the interior is crying out for a face-lift, you can't argue with its fabulous location beside the Inn River and a mere stone's throw from the Altstadt. The whole place oozes musty charm, with plastic flowers and walls plastered with cheesy snapshots that have clearly been there for donkey's years. The rooms look like they've been plucked straight from a '70s sitcom with soft beds, net curtains and old-style furniture. They are, however, warm, clean and well-kept.
