Lonely Planet review

This place is like a dinosaur surrounded by modern animals, but in a good way. The Luxor is the only place in the city, and possibly in the country, that's truly dedicated to backpackers. The rooms are airy, with painted wooden ceilings and little balconies.

The bathrooms are mostly shared - there is one en suite double - and there is a small (outdoor) breakfast kitchen. Recently taken over by an American Cypriot, the guesthouse has applied for a licence to serve breakfast. The new manager is determined to show he cares about his guests, so he's introduced free internet, too.
