Now privately owned by the Classic British Hotels group, this is the pick of the old-school seafront hotels and has recently benefited from a major refurbishment that has introduced two disabled rooms. It's a sprawling behemoth of a place with large, comfortable rooms, although back-facing rooms are a bit dark. Facilities include a health club and the hotel caters increasingly for the conference market.
