A novel lodging concept in a hotel landscape already bristling with innovation, the Sagamore poses the question, 'What happens when you mix up a contemporary gallery, a modern art museum and a sleeping space,' and answers, 'A pretty awesome hotel.' Sleep and party in style amidst folks who stride the cutting edge of both art and accommodation aesthete.Spencer Tunick got 600 people to pose nude in massively structured photo shoots set all around the Sagamore in 2007. Nude art installation - that's hot, but also expected at this hotel-cum-exhibition space, which likes to blur the boundaries between interior decor, art and conventional hotel aesthetics. For instance, rows of plaster death masks line the area around the bar - TGI Friday's, take note! - and even the rooms double as art galleries, thanks to a talented curator and an impressive roster of contributing artists. Along with all this bohemian street cred are some pretty plush amenities: big flat-screen TVs, porcelain-tiled floors and general Roman emperor levels of pampering.

The Miami City Ballet holds shows in a lovely three-story headquarters (2200 Liberty Ave) designed by famed local architectural firm, Arquitectonica. The facade allows passers-by to watch the dancers rehearsing through big picture windows, which kinda makes you feel like you're in a scene from 'Fame,' except the weather is better and people don't spontaneously break into song. Which is a shame, really.
