Sometimes, hotels are so cool they figure they don't have to hang out with the other poseurs. Enter The Standard, as fresh as the swishest design catalogue, yet as friendly as a good buddy. Rooms are stark and sweet, the crowd is fun-loving and the locale offers just the right amount of isolation.

The Standard is anything but. This excellent boutique hooks an IV of hipster funk into the main vein of South Beach sex - the result is a '50s motel gone glam. Organic, wooden floors, raised white beds and gossamer curtains open onto a courtyard of earthly delights, including a heated hamam (Turkish bath) where the crowd, which feels like the Delano kids with a bit more maturity, gathers to flirt and gawk. Shuttles ferry you to the Sagamore every 30 minutes, so you're never too isolated from the scene - unless you want to be, and given the grace of this place, we'd totally understand why.
