All of the 46 spacious and immaculate studios here have satellite TV, kitchenettes, air-con, telephones and sofa beds (plus the main bed, of course). Some have sliding doors that open onto the pool area. A small market, cafe and coin laundry are adjacent to the hotel. If you plan on doing any kind of cooking while you're here, the Hotel Santa Fe is great value. The clean, cosy, kitchenette rooms include plates, cups, pots, and pans, and there's a deli/convenience store right next to the lobby. The pool is deep blue, small and less sunny than some other hotel pools due to the shade of the hotel itself, but it's clean and cheery nonetheless. Palm trees and wrought-iron tables and chairs add to the ambience of the cement patio. The rooms are spacious and have art on the walls. It's close to the strip and the beaches, and yet far enough away that you won't be kept awake by the noise. Wifi has replaced the computer in the lobby, but if you don't have a laptop you can hop into one of the multitude of teeny internet cafes nearby.

Even if you got your fill of drunken craziness in college, Squid Row is so outrageous that it's worth stopping by. If you're in the mood to get wild, let staff drag you out for some dirty dancing, join a conga line and have tequila shots poured down your throat, or order a neon-green (but sometimes watery) margarita and hope that none of what you're seeing (or doing) ever gets back to the office.
