Call off the search, this Banyan-related resort actually transcends opulence. Stretched over a wide patch of beachside turf and tucked into pockets of foliage, the suites and facilities here are flawless.
Dressed in fine Thai silk and accessorised with immense furniture and appliances that make you gloat, each of Angsana's three category suites raise the bar for style cats. Sophisticated colour schemes are offset by polished dark timber, wooden carvings and delicate wall hangings. Folding louvered doors open onto wide and private balconies, complete with cushioned sun lounges. Well-equipped kitchens include every mod-con and then some (cappuccino makers thank you very much). The resort has three restaurant-cum-bars and three swimming pools. The service makes you feel like a movie star, even if you're just popping in to ask directions. Is anyone left wondering why they consistently win awards titled 'Hotel Spa of the Year' and 'Second Best Overseas Hotel Spa in Australasia & South Pacific' from the likes of Conde Nast?
