Set on the far northern edge of the city, La Villada offers superb facilities in a tranquil location, along with friendly, helpful attention from the English-speaking brothers who run it. The rooms are far superior to normal hostel standards.If you don't mind being out on the fringe of the city, it's a great value for comfortable facilities at budget prices. The attractive rooms boast painted brick walls, art, artisanry, cable TV, good wooden furniture and private bathrooms. There's no guest kitchen, but facilities include an economical restaurant, a bar with pool table, an excellent swimming pool with expansive views and free wi-fi access. The hostel also runs its own out-of-town tours by car or van. The hostel will pick you up for free from Oaxaca's 1st class bus station between 8:00 and 20:00. Once there, you can use local buses and taxis to get to and from the center.
