Weather-worn blue balustrades, faded pink walls, and authentic colourful tiles give the pretty Matins Bleus that salty, seaside feeling. The house is still owned by the Mahboul family who've lived here for generations - it's one of the only authentic Souiri guesthouses in the medina. It's been recommended by travellers time and again - it's easy to see why. The three brothers who run the house are all easy-going, genuinely friendly, and multilingual: between them they speak French, German, English and Spanish. They do a lot of work with Fun & Fly and Club Mistral surf-trip operators so the house is often full of laid-back surfers who spend their days on the beach and scuff around the pink-and-blue terrace in the evening. The eight rooms are neat and unpretentious. Painted white with strong colour accents - green ceiling beams, painted woodwork and window frames - they're breezy and bright with no unnecessary clutter. Shower rooms are small and functional with impeccably clean modern suites and pine fixtures and fittings.
