Address: Via g spontini 6, City centre , Milan 20131, Italy Show on map
A fine, unassuming hotel that offers guests a friendly welcome and modest, clean rooms, close to the shopping of Corso Buenos Aires. There's a wide range of rooms on offer for such a small hotel. After negotiating the narrow spiral mirrored staircase to the 1st-floor reception, you'll find a friendly smile and greeting from the English-speaking owner. The hotel takes up two floors and there's a mix of rooms with or without bathroom and those without bathroom have to share with only one other room on the floor, making this a pretty good option. The rooms are spotless, furnished in a modest unassuming style, but considering the price range, it's fine. Worth trying to score here, however, is number 27, as it has a private balcony. It's actually quite convenient as well, with Lima Metro station just down the road and Stazione Central a short hop away. A well-run place with enthusiastic management and value that's pretty hard to beat.

Despite looking a little out of the way, Lima Metro station is just down the road and the Duomo is only about four stops from there. While it's admittedly not the most exciting area at night, Pizzeria Spontini (just a few doors down), serves up some of the tastiest wood-fired pizzas in Milan.
