Hôtel Nelligan has gained quite a reputation for dependability, and guest rooms portray an image of quiet modesty and muted magnificence. Impeccable service and comfort are two of the hotel's greatest assets, and the restaurant, Verses, receives consistently good reviews.

Toasty fireplaces in the suites and earthy textiles give each room a warm, relaxing feel. In Verses restaurant, brick walls flirt with lustrous oak, stoney pillars, and bright-red banquettes; the menu embraces a fusion of contemporary French cuisine with a Japanese kick. The restaurant is popular with nonguests, so don't forget to book a table on the weekends. After hours, the inner courtyard of this hotel comes alive with the buzz of cocktail-toting professional types in the bar. Martinis seem to be the specialty - inventive 'Red Bull' and 'Lychee' martinis top the drink list. In the summer, head for the rooftop terrace for a spectacular view of the shimmering St Lawrence River.
