Right around the corner from the beach, the Ipanema Inn is a decent option for those seeking comfortable but simple accommodation in an excellent neighborhood - and at a price that won't erode the vacation budget.

The rooms here are modestly sized with decorative touches. The former owner of the hotel was a painter and her colourful block prints and paintings adorn the rooms and hallways. The rooms have tile floors, modern bathrooms (with full tubs) and wooden touches which give them a folksy feel. Front-facing rooms ('superiores') don't have ocean views, but if you lean far enough out the window, you'll get a glimpse of the sea. Ipanema Inn has a friendly, multilingual staff. Several suites on the top floors can accommodate larger groups.
