One of São Paulo's loveliest boutique hotels, L'Hotel has earned many admirers over its 10-year lifespan. Although there are 80 rooms here, you wouldn't know it from the excellent individual service and the absolute tranquility that permeates the hallways.

Each of the 13 floors are set around an open atrium, with richly colored carpet and large mirrors lining the way. The rooms themselves are classically decorated, with solid antique-looking furnishings, king-sized beds covered with intricately patterned comforters and similarly floral-patterned curtains, which frame large windows. Soundproofed windows ensure that even in the lower rooms, the noise of the city doesn't intrude. The bathrooms are lined with Spanish marble and all have bathtubs. Throughout the hotel, there's abundant evidence of the owner's love of antiques. There's also a covered rooftop pool with waterfall and all the other extras you'd expect at this class. The service here is top-notch.
