This stunning Scandinavian import is all about style, elegance and designer cool. The light-filled atrium stretches nine floors up and gives the place a sense of space that seemingly only the Scandinavians have managed to master. The very sexy rooms ooze comfort and class.

The cool, ergonomic furniture in the lobby - funky red couches and the like - promises more of the same in the bedrooms, and you won't be disappointed. The rooms are divided into 'Ocean' - a blue-coloured, wave-themed look with views of the docks and the Mersey; and 'Urban' - all luscious reds and other deep colours, with views of the city centre. Each comes with all the designer gadgetry you'd expect: flat-screen TVs, funky see-through mini-bars and super-hip bathrooms. They're not especially huge, but they're very cool, baby.
